Learn more about some of the inhabitants and factions of the Galaxies
The Concordat
The Concordat is the largest faction across the galaxies, holding jurisdiction over millions of star-systems. Originally formed during the Supreme War to hold back a much mightier foe, the Concordat is made up of over a dozen alien species all working together to protect their galaxy and it’s inhabitants. Due to the destructive power of their foe during the war, they were forced to abandon almost all planetary settlements, as a stationary target proved too dangerous, instead living on great city-ships able to outmanoeuvre their foe. Since the end of the war, the Concordat now looks to resettle their ancient homeworlds as well as new systems, and discover exactly how their military alliance works in peacetime.

The Concordat is made up of a variety of strange and powerful alien species, with only those who the concordat see as being valuable allowed in and others being looked down on. Much of their faction lives in harmony using advanced technologies, however each species still retains a strong sense of cultural identity and some unique technology. Leaders of all these species come together regularly at great parties to decide policy, talk through war planning and discuss the future of the Concordat.
The Sonorant
Although not one of the founding member of the Concordat, the Sonorant have been part of it since it's early formation. Appearing as glowing humans with shimmering, colour changing hair, the Sonorant’s true form is composed of pure sound, a form they can only achieve on the conditions of their home world. Their technology revolves around sound, and they are able to combine different sounds and songs to manipulate reality, just as humans combine mechanical parts and different mathematical laws to produce working systems. The power of Sonorant can vary greatly, with the strongest among them capable of creating songs that can shatter continents and warp reality.

Although part of the Concordat, due to the uniqueness of their technology, lots of Sonorant technology remains unintegrated with other Concordat members, although research is continuously ongoing to use their skills to enhance the wider faction. As a species, they prize responsibility and accountability, having fully devoted themselves to the values of the Concordat. Fables talk of a song so powerful it would allow the unrestricted manipulation of any and all matter, and Sonorant conductors continue to research and experiment, hoping one day to reach this mythical power.
The Monarchy
One of the other superfactions of the galaxies is the Monarchy, a relatively new group led by humans and comprised of a handful of other alien races they have defeated or assimilated. Led by their queen and separated into various Dominions led by her relatives, the Monarchy is a militaristic and Industrial faction, often looking to expand it’s empire to new reaches of their galaxy. Citizens are generally happy, with hobbies and wellbeing taking a leading role in day-to-day life, however this is not the case in their army, of which most people in the Monarchy have served at one point or another.

The Monarchy favours strong defence and siege tactics using simple but effective equipment, forgoing the lasers and energy shields of more advanced factions for strong, thick metal armour and trusty yet powerful guns. Monarchy artillery can destroy a capital ship from the other side of a star system, and Monarchy soldiers who return alive are well-renowned in society by their peers. As well as the army, there exists The Frontier, state-sanctioned militia groups varying in size and power, that are used to defend the edges of the empire from smaller foes and incursions.
The Drarganians
The Drarganians are a proud, strong species that had forged a small empire across multiple star-systems. Giant bipedal dragonoid people of various colour, they favour the use of genetically-engineered soldiers and fire-based weaponry and are a formidable foe. Having fought against the Concordat for years, the Drarganians have recently joined the Monarchy after a tense negotation, heightening tensions between the two superpowers.

The Drarganians are a proud people with an illustrious history of war, and are enthusiastic members of the Monarchy. Much of their empire remains intact but integrated, and the Drar Dominion where they primarily reside is one of the more unique in the Monarchy. Worshipping the Queen as a living god, one of the greatest honours is to fight on her behalf and for her empire, and almost all Drarganians have or do serve in BOLT, the Monarchy’s army.
The Prug
Found commonly across both of the Galaxies, the Prug are a species that grew up inside a large area of the galaxy covered in toxic chemicals and pollution. Fleeing their toxic homeworld, they found that to breathe, they needed respirators as they had adapted to living in the toxic smog of their homeworld. A short, stout race, they are covered in fur and have flat faces often obscured by the large breathing apparatus they need.

Having joined the large criminal group known as the Stakan Bratva, the Prug found themselves to be excellent chemical engineers, creating all kinds of intoxicants and other compounds that they could sell to bring in large amounts of money for their race. Despite their work, they are a very friendly race, and due to litters of thousands being born at once, are unlikely to be disappearing from the galaxies anytime soon.
The Kabiish
Found across much of the galaxies, the Kabiish are an independent species that is generally liked by other factions due to their friendly nature and variety of goods they have to trade. An odd-looking race, Kabiish have no arms and have a pink, slimy skin, looking almost amphibious. The many tentacles on their face act as limbs for them, and although they are not physically strong these tentacles can extend and pack quite a punch.

Once a fairly unknown race barely able to travel through space, the Kabiish homeworld was thrown by a far superior race as a weapon, and they found themselves a collateral casualty in a war that did not involve them. After travelling for centuries and barely surviving, their planet was shattered amongst an asteroid field in intergalactic space. The Kabiish adapted to this new life, using crystals found amongst these asteroids for electrical weapons and carving cities and massive ships out of rock, a method they continue to practise and perfect. Their ships are continuously changing and shrinking as parts are destroyed in combat, with even the greatest warships eventually being nothing more than a handheld weapon.
