Rifts and Rivets

Rifts and Rivets is a sci-fi setting in which numerous alien factions explore the galaxies, utilising cutting edge technologies and mysterious space-time rifts as they battle to fill the power vacuum left in the aftermath of the millennia-spanning Supreme War. The galaxies of Rifts and Rivets are filled with countless strange species and groups, each with their own cultures and technologies. Many of these groups operate at immense scales, fielding fleets comprising billions of ships and fighting over enormous territories. Despite this, individuals still play a part, and one person in the right place at the right time can put events into motion that will affect the lives of trillions.

The inhabitants of the Rifts and Rivets setting vary wildly in terms of power, abilities and biology, with some strong enough to destroy entire star systems with little to no effort and others constructing ships as large as moons and planets. Even the relatively weaker species host impressive technologies, including being able to code soundwaves and vibrations like computers, set up cities within the event horizons of black holes, and some races even having developed themselves beyond time itself. Faster-than-light travel is commonplace, allowing hundreds or thousands of light-years of travel in mere seconds. Even the galaxies themselves hold strange properties, such as the powerful rifts, allowing travel across the universe instantaneously.
One again, however, war is on the horizon for the denizens of the Rifts and Rivets setting. Two of the largest factions, The industrious Monarchy and the expansive Concordat, are on the brink of war. As their conflict threatens to plunge their respective galaxies into war, smaller factions and organised crime groups look to establish their place in the galaxies.
